Our yoga holidays in France at laid back Les Passeroses

After a wonderful tenth year at Les Passeroses in 2017, we'll be back in 2018!

2018 - COSTS TBC:
14th-21st July with Gareth & Chantal
21st-28th July with Chantal
28th July-4th August with Anika
4th-11th August with Anika
1st - 8th September with Chantal & Gareth

We call these trips ‘yoga holidays’ as opposed to ‘retreats’ because it’s not a strict, full-on affair where you have to get up at the crack of dawn for yoga boot camp, survive on mung beans and water and share a dorm with a dozen others! Hopefully everyone will enjoy and benefit from a lot of yoga during the week… but everything is optional!

THE VENUE, LOCATION & ACCOMMODATION
Les Passeroses is a stunning French farmhouse in the countryside of the South West of France. It has been listed in the Top Ten Best Yoga Retreats in the World by the Guardian, Top Twenty Best Retreats in the Times and Best European Yoga Retreats in the Independent.
Nestled in the wonderful French countryside of the Charente region, Les Passeroses is South East of Cognac and North East of Bordeaux, the nearest big town is Angouleme.
The rooms are lovingly designed and finished to a high standard with comfortable beds and high quality linen.  Towels and pool towels are provided (again unlike most retreats we’ve been on!).
The rooms are either twin/double sharing or single with most ensuite.

YOUR DAY
Typically, we get up at a reasonable time and have a morning yoga practice from 8-9.30am. Then we have breakfast of fruit, cereals, cheeses, fresh homemade bread/toast, spreads, teas and coffee. Gluten free options are always available.
During the day there's plenty of time to chill out by the pool with a book or explore the countryside on foot or you could hire a bicycle from local supplier Bikes 4 Gites. It’s your holiday so you do what feels right!  Lunch is generally at about 1.30pm and is always a delightful 2 course feast!

On Wednesday afternoons, whilst our rooms are being cleaned, we all head off into a local town for the day. This gives you time for shopping or people watching in a local cafe! We stay here for the evening and have dinner as a group at our favourite bistro.
Mid afternoon, (for anyone who’s around) there’s afternoon ‘tiffin’ (Indian chai/tea and sweet things).
In the evening we do a second yoga practice from 6-7.30pm.
Then about 8pm we have a 3 course vegetarian dinner (with wine if people want!)

You have come to relax and unwind, so why not complement your yoga practice and indulge in one or more of the massage therapies that is on offer?
Our qualified English therapist, the lovely Jan, will meet the group on the Sunday to discuss individual needs and create a timetable of therapies for you.

You can choose from:

  • Reflexology
  • Swedish massage
  • Back and shoulder massage
  • Aromatherapy
  • Reflexology

Take a look at her interesting Aromatherapy site HERE

THE FOOD
The meals are chef prepared vegetarian, all of them are delicious and very imaginatively created with a theme to the food each day, e.g. Mediterranean, African, Asian, etc.
Our hosts are happy to accommodate any special dietary requirements as long as they’re given notice. So if you're coeliac, lactose intolerant, following the paleo diet, etc you'll never be hungry at Les Passeroses.
The food is always exceptional!  Every time we go our hosts are always asked for the recipes - one day we’ll convince them to publish a cookbook! In fact they've started to publish some recipes on their website and their Facebook page.

THE COSTS - per person, for all dates - TBC
Single with shared bathroom
Single oak room with own corner shower
Single garden lodge ensuite
Twin with shared bathroom
Twin/double ensuite
Double (couples only) garden lodge ensuite
Triple ensuite

TRAVEL
With regards to travel we help to co-ordinate so that if you don’t want to travel alone we get you in touch with others who are taking the same route. Eurostar is easy from London to Angouleme (with a change in Paris or Lille). From mainland Europe there are direct trains from Gare Montparnasse, Paris and also Paris Charles de Gaulle airport.
Alternatively you might choose to fly into Bordeaux.  We arrange transfers with the venue so you don't need to worry about that!  In fact we pretty much do everything for you so you can start relaxing before you actually get here!

HOW TO BOOK
Please contact us using the form on this page or email us on info@livingyogaholidays.com
We’ll send you the booking form and health questionnaire, both of which we will need returning along with a non-refundable deposit of £250 to secure your place.
